All About Me

I've been teaching guitar for 8 years in Nottingham, both privately and at the Music Makers summer school. I'm super passionate about both playing guitar and helping others with their skills, or working with complete beginners and inspiring them to fall in love with the best instrument in the world! The styles that I enjoy most are percussive and fingerstyle guitar, as well as blues, jazz and rock - but I teach all genres!

My Philosophy

I believe that, although things like learning scales and theory are important, beginners shouldn't really get bogged down with them. They can be a bit of a bore. The key for me is to inspire the student to experiment on their own, have fun and use their ears instead of always relying on bits of paper.

One-on-One Lessons

I've taught various one on one students from absolute beginners all the way to diploma level and beyond. Lessons are tailor made to the students' needs and always aim to get the balance right between inspiring and informative. Prices for 30 minute lessons are £17, or £30 for a one hour lesson.

One of my goals is to help my students to record and add videos of themselves playing to my YouTube channel so they can track their progression and create a encouraging and positive community for other learners. Only if you feel comfortable though!
